Art in 3-D
1) Mold It: mold clay to air dry (sculpture)
2) Past Masters: explore art books, pick masters you admire and create your own masterpiece using their style.
3) Negatives are Positives: make an abstract sculpture with Creation Station materials. These will be displayed for public in front window for a week! J
4) Art that’s Me: Make a mosaic that represents self( initial, fav. Colors, etc.)
5) It’s Mobile: Make a mobile as a troop. These may be hung for display in Hands on 4Kidz.
6) All around the Town: Discuss 3 dimensional art in the community. List at least 5 examples.

1) Fashion through the Ages: After looking at pictures of fashion through the decades design your own outfit on paper. Color it.
2) The Old is New Again: Look at old jewelry. What was popular? Now? Draw or create a future trend.
3) Decorate your wears: Make appliqué t-shirts ( t-shirt is included)
4) Pattern Maker: embellish your shirt. Buttons, beads, fabric crayons – make a pattern.
5) Fashion Add On: finger crochet or braid a belt or hair tie
6) Fashions from afar: Make posters of traditional dress from 3 continents (Life Size!!)
Cost is $16.00 per scout
1) Media Savvy: using 3 different mediums make the same picture
2) Primary – Secondary: colors, then paint a picture
3) No Brushes: experiment using 2 different techniques. NO BRUSHES!
4) In Shape: Use cut outs of basic shapes to create a picture or scene.
5) On the Wall: Paint a Mural on a HO4K wall! J
6) On Your Own: Pick one picture to display in entry way of studio. Make an invitation for a family member to come and see your gallery display. (A newspaper story item?)

A Daisy Journey - Between Earth and Sky
Workshop 1-
Every journey begins with directions or a Map. Using shapes seen in nature we will design a small map with symbols. We will discuss how to make and use a key so that sister Daisy’s could follow our map.(2)
So many things in nature actually can create color. Using a rubber mallet and items the girls have gathered from their own yards we will create note cards displaying the colors in nature.(3)

Runs approx. 1 ½ hours
Workshop 2-
Why would that tree make a good swing? That bush looks like a lion! That one is pale and the one over there is green! We will explore why these things happen as we construct mobiles from nature. (5)
Is an orange really orange? What color is a cucumber? Are beets red or purple? We will make natural dyes and use diffusion paper to explore colors in nature. We will also use celery to pull up colors to see what happens. A little science here!(6)

Workshop 3-
Pirates! We must protect our natural treasures. This is its own workshop designed to begin to foster a save the earth feeling. We will begin by talking about how Earth is comprised of many treasures. Association of who/what pirates may be and how we can help many of them change. Using what we have talked about the girls will break into teams and make posters showing what they have learned.
We will end the activity by making a recycled craft out of items that we might have found in the forest –
Wrappers, bottle caps, soda cans, etc. (9)

Science in Action
1.) Technology Hunt- Girls will observe various items within store and out on sidewalk to fulfill this requirement.
2.) Glop: we will make this concoction and enjoy the “feeling”
3.) Balloon Blow: we will blow up balloons without using our own breath…fun!
4.) A butterfly of many colors: we will experiment with the black marker and then finish it off making festive butterflies!
Cost per scout: $8.00 approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Art to wear
1.) Decorate a t-shirt: using fabric markers and paints girls will stencil and color t-shirts to wear!
2.) Bead a Bracelet: Girls will bead a colorful bracelet to wear.
3.) Girls will make a collage mask which can be decorated.
4.) Make a pin using various “creation station” mediums.
Cost per scout: $18.00
This is a good half-day badge. Need at least 2 hours
Building Art
1.) Create a Neighborhood: Using recyclables and other items girls will create a neighborhood. Finished project will display in window of store for period of time along with troop recognition.
2.) Build a Bridge: With limited materials girls will construct a bridge. This will be a group activity and may display with the Neighborhood.
3.) Building for Future: Choose a building in city and discuss what it will look like in 100 years.
4.) Strength of shapes: Test various shapes and different conditions.
Cost per Scout: $7.00 each plus each should bring an empty box (cereal, etc.) 2 hours.
Puppets, Dolls & Plays
1.) Finger Puppets: we will use different items to make finger puppets and then perform a puppet show.
2.) Yarn Dolls: using yarn and other items we will make a doll and clothe it.
3.) Paper Bag Puppets: self explanatory J
4.) Make a Stage: Using plain sheet girls will design a backdrop and stage area to perform a puppet show.
Cost per scout: $10.00 each 2 hours
Stitch it together
1.) Sewing Card: We will make a stitching card and then use yarn and needle to “stitch”
2.) Make a Book: Using paper and card stock we will stitch a binding and create a journal
3.) Sew a Bean Bag: Girls will cut and stitch a square bean bag, filling it with beans.
4.) Button Collage Pillow: We will sew buttons onto a square, add a back and stuff to create small pillows.
Cost per Scout: $14.00 each 3 hours
Colors and Shapes
1.) Stencils: We will create our own stencils to use. We will make a note card/greeting card using them.
2.) Dough Shapes: We will make simple dough and then create shapes. These can then be brought home to air dry.
3.) Rainbow Colors: we will mix colors using liquid watercolors. We will then color paper to create creatures!
4.) Yarn Painting: Using yarn instead of paints we will create”frame able” art!
Cost per Scout: $10.00 each 1 ½ hours
Friends are Fun
1.) Friendship Bracelet: Make a friendship bracelet.
2.) Paper Design: Design Notepaper and matching envelope
3.) Create a Code: Write notes in code and exchange…we will do different secret codes.
4.) Flower Power: Plant a flower in a “decorated” pot!
